1983. Our Taupo dealership, previously known as Central Ford, has been in the same building
ever since.
Founder Richard Blakeney-Williams embarked on a journey to create a superior customer
experience focused on quality vehicles and service. We are proud to have since become one of
the region’s most reputable motor vehicle dealerships.

The roots of our long-standing partnership with Ford go back even further to
Blakeney-Williams’ previous Ford garage, Central Garage & Engineeering Works. The Ford
garage was was based in Maungaturoto until his move to Taupo and the establishment of
the new Central Ford dealership.
This collaboration with one of the world's most respected car manufacturers has
solidified our position in the market, with Central Motor Group becoming synonymous with
Ford's long-standing tradition of quality and innovation. In 2015, Ford New Zealand
congratulated Central Motor Group on 70 years of service – a prestigious achievement.
Our commitment to quality vehicle sales and unparalleled customer service has seen us rewarded with numerous awards, including the prestigious Ford President Award. Nowhere is this philosophy more evident than in our valued clientele, many of whom have been purchasing and servicing their cars with us for decades.
